Every day, communities along the Oregon Coast and across Oregon are facing threats to their drinking water, ocean quality, fisheries, soil, food systems, and more. Corporations have the right to clear cut, pollute, poison, and pipe fracked gas and communities have no right to say, “No.”  Do we turn away and do nothing? Continue to work within the existing structure? Or do we stand up?

As part of their grassroots organizing LCCR and CELDF are partnering to host the Daniel Pennock Democracy School. In two sessions, residents and activists can learn why and how to reframe exhausting and often discouraging single issue work (such as opposing current forest practices, pipelines, food sovereignty, election integrity, sludge dumping, and more…) in a way where they can confront corporate control and state interference on a powerful single front: peoples’ and nature’s inalienable rights.
