Central Oregon Coast NOW General Meeting

Central Oregon Coast NOW general meeting – 6 PM – Newport Public Library – 35 NW Nye St., Newport. All are welcome!

On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, the Central Oregon Coast Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW) will host a discussion led by Samaritan House Executive Director Lola Jones concerning homelessness and housing issues in Lincoln County and how Samaritan House, and its programs help in shaping solutions. The talk will take place in the McEntee Meeting Room, Newport Public Library, 35 NW Nye Street, Newport at 6 pm.  The public is welcome.

Samaritan House, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established in Newport, Oregon in 1988.  Its programs include transitional shelter, case management and support services to assist families in achieving self-sufficiency and stable housing.

Lola Jones has been director of Samaritan House since 2012.  Prior to that she was an Americorp VISTA Volunteer.  Jones attended Linfield College where she met her spouse Grant Jones, son of long-term Newport residents Mark and Maria Jones.  They moved to Newport in 2009.

Prior to the discussion special guest, Corinne Fletcher, Oregon NOW’s new Executive Director, will be introduced and will make a few remarks on “Smashing the Patriarchy”.

Central Oregon Coast NOW Chapter will also conduct a brief business meeting following the discussions.
